For those of you who would like to use the DropStuff product on the Mac OS X Public Beta, we encourage you to do so. However, as the OS is still in Beta, we can not provide an installer for you at this time (as directories are in constant change). Because of this fact, we are asking you to please place a certain component in a certain location on your OS X partition so DropStuff will function as you would expect.
DropStuff can be run from its installed location under Mac OS X. Please note that the following path may not exist, and you will need to create the appropriate folder. The item that you will need to copy to your Mac OS X drive is:
StuffIt Engine™ (this is located in your Classic Mac OS extensions folder)
please copy this component to:
(Your Mac OS X Drivc) / Library / Application Support / StuffIt Engine™
[NOTE: Under the default install of OS X Public Beta, there is a directory made named, "ApplicationSupport" that has an item called "StuffIt Engine™" inside of it. This folder is named inappropriately (there is no space between "Application" and "Support"). Also, the StuffIt Engine shipping with DropStuff 6.0 is newer than the version of the Engine installed with the Public Beta. For these reasons, you should drag the "ApplicationSupport" folder to the trash, and recreate the path as stated above.]
Copy this component to this location, reboot your Mac OS X system, and you should have full use of the DropStuff application under Mac OS X. Enjoy!
